Mark Baber, the author of the Novado Communications web sites, is a freelance English-speaking translator domiciled in Switzerland.
He has over twenty years of solid professional experience in the IT domain, with practical roles in: pre-sales, systems engineering, analysis, design, programming, documentation, help desk, network management, project management, database design and management, hardware and software sales and installations, software localisation, ERP, CRM, client/server, and internet technologies.
Specialising in French-to-English and German-to-English technical translations, Mark works for direct clients and translation agencies alike. He has a wide portfolio of translation experience for many major European and Swiss corporations and utilities, including companies operating in the following industries: telecommunications, electricity generation, consumer products, software, motor vehicles and accessories, tourism, and petro-chemicals.
He has worked and lived in New Zealand, Australia, the United States, the Caribbean islands, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, therefore being well acquainted and practiced with most common variants of modern English.
Mark maintains his interest in technical IT matters with his involvement in the French-speaking F/OSS CMS project, SPIP, and the SARKA template, both used in the construction of this site. He actively contributes with free translations to this open-source project, the most widely used French-based CMS system available.
